Network Information (Noob)

Hey Guys

I was wondering if anyone could give me some help or point me in the right direction regaurding seting up a home network.

Here is my situation.

I have a main Desktop computer (no wirless card) that is wired to a wirless router (linksys wirless G)

I have 3 laptops (all with wirless cards) that are set up to conect to the interent through the wirless router

My question is. How can I make the laptops see the desktop computer???

first off, sometimes XP and Vista dont play nice sharing files over a network. ive had good luck but some have not. what OS's are the four computers running?

Also, you need to have network sharing turned on for all four computers. if not, they may not see the desktop computer. that was a problem i had at my home network. once i turned on sharing and set the security features up to remotely log onto the desktop on the network i could see and log onto it with my laptop. i later on shut all that off because i no longer keep anything on the desktop to need to access it.

desktop and 1 laptop are running XP

2 laptops are running vista.

im more concered about the two vista laptops being able to share files with the desktop...

i will give what you said a try

Sounds like the main problem is network sharing being on. XP and Vista should theoretically play well together...

hey

thanks for the help. was able to figure it out, got my pc's talking to each other...this network stuff is not so bad once you get playing around with it.
