Or maybe the slipstream process that I used to include the SATA drivers on my XP CD?

I was able to connect to my WiFi network on the first try. Then I tried again several times but my laptop did not find any WiFi network, and there are 2 at my house (one is mine and the other is my neighbor's). I reformated a couple of times and tried to connect again, without any success.

The slip stream doesn't matter since I have slip streamed my copy as well with the sata drivers. I did however use a dell OEM xp pro sp2 mce dvd. I am wondering what drivers you used to install the intel card it self? An were you using the windows wireless configuration or the Intel wireless software to connect to Access Points?

All SATA controllers made in the past 2 years or so can function in "Combination" or "Leagacy" mode this makes them appear to the OS as normal IDE controllers so no drivers are required. This trick does not work with RAID though, any RAID you do will need a driver.

If you want to slipstream drivers to your XP disc, the easiest way by far is to get the utility called nLite http://www.nliteos.com It's free and lets you do all kinds of crazy stuff to make a very customized Windows XP install disc. I use it all the time because I'm too damn lazy to install drivers one by one

Did anyone install the Notebook System Software? That's the only driver I am having a problem with so far. I tried the XP NSS driver for the Vostro 1500, 1501, and E1505. So far none of them will install.

My last question is what SATA setting did you use in your BIOS. Everything is pretty much installed and working. I will be attempting to get Media Direct working next.
