But yea my GPU is idling about 65 without SLI :'[
I'm afraid to play any games or anything on it or enable SLI I don't want to fry it...
I'm gonna order or buy AS5 and all the Arcticlean stuff ASAP, Thanks :]

The gpu's in the m9700 should idle at about 65, mine idle about 67. They go up to close to eighty under load. They don't start to throttle back until they get into the 90's, so your 65 is fine.

The cpu on the other hand should idle around 50. Mine idles in mid 40's, goes into the sixties with normal use like websurfing, but goes into the low eighties when at 100% use for gaming.

For what part? I think you can use AS5 on the cpu, the gpu though is a module and I'm not sure how that works.

Hi and thanks for the reply. its for the cpu the vid card is Nvid 5600, no way to put anything on it, I've already used AS5, but kinda scared about running it now, I found a program on here for the to monitor the gpu temp, looking for one that would do the cpu, im real worried about the heat now with the cpu my system never shut it self down just locks up now and then,

OH crap, i had my cpu and gpu fans and heatsink/heatpipes out yesterday. I also have my gpu's overclocked some and i've been playing Ghost Recon Advenced Warfighter 2 and its been fine. Im getting some new hardware like a ml-44 cpu so i will get AS5 then. It seems to be fine, i havent noticed a difference.

Oh ya ive also been playing Battlefield 2142 online and havent noticed a difference either.

The best instructions can be found on Arctic Silver's website.

http://www.arcticsilver.com/instructions.htm

I've found the less you use, the better, as long as you get full coverage. The only problem I could see is if the heatsink is designed for a thick heatpad, so it's not actually making close contact to the processor. I don't have my 766 anymore, so I can't check it out...

Usually heatsinks will apply some pressure, so it'll probably work fine.

I use Notebook Hardware Control to monitor my cpu temp. It reports in the system tray.

Hey Hammerdead thanks for the info on SA5 very good read, and yes i used to much as i just found out, Im new here and i posted a reply to my self, guess i can copy and past it here.

Hey Thanks for the reply, Yeah ive been running it but not long, i put very thin on the cpu and fan to, i can hardly hear the fans run now, I found the Nvid gpu temp app and i turn it offmy AW that is in the mid to high 80c and that is when the cup fan starts to spin a little faster, but still hard to hear, try to use that getthermal but the one i found was for the sager and clevo didnt work in mine, I'll try that notebook hardware control, would it control the fans to, if not any ideas please let me know, ya know my system would just lock up and before i use the AS5 i would hear the cpu fast and loud, then it would lock up, some times i could run it for hours and other times 10 20 min, i dont know what is going on with it .
driving me crazy.

The fans turn on when the cpu is hot, so if they're not turning on it might be running cooler.

As for the freezing, it could be lots of things.... Memory, vid card or cpu...
