XPS M1710 Red is beautiful. But if I want a gaming laptop I'd do an Alienware SLI laptop. Can't afford it and will do custom desktop instead. I'm waiting for the 9800 Nvidia to come out in Nov?

A bright red laptop that looks like something out a sci fi movi. To each his own I guess.

Which RAM for 4 GB?

For the people who do have 4 GB of RAM in their e1705, what type and speed is it? I just tried to install 2x 2GB sticks of Kingston 667 MHz from Buy.com but my laptop would not boot up with it. Of course they sent it in a padded envelope and the 2 packages were obviously crushed so maybe the SoDimms are damaged.

i have 2gb and i have about 1.69 available at most times (running idle). I remebmer gamespot running hardware tests for supreme commander and they used 1gb,2gb,4gb. They said it ran best w/ 4GB as all those units need to be monitored by the CPU and RAM. However I dont play Supcom so I wouldnt know. But most games these days have z reccomended RAM of 1GB. However, newer games are asking for 2gb.

I remeber Fry's Outpost have a 2GB module for 89.99 But i believe that deal is long gone.
