Hello,

I've had my 8890 for 4 years now. I had originally the 60g 7200 as system/pagefile swap/photoshop scratch for performance and 80g 5400 as data/archive. The 60g went south on me last month. I switched the 80g to drive 0 and installed a backup of the OS (Win XP SP2) onto it and kept chuggin. But, everything is sloooower, and now I'm running out of space. I did get an external myBook 500 to get things roomy, and have backed everything up to it as well.

Now, I just got in my two new 100g 7200 drives today and want to get them in the machine ASAP and don't want to have any hitches or unnecessary downtime (Who doesn't!) but I've seriously got work going on. I want raid 1 (mirroring) because I'm a developer, not a gamer, and security and reliability is paramount.

So, I'm figuring this. I put one of the 100g's into the 2nd bay as drive 1, use drive utils to bounce all the system/data from my 80g drive 0 over to the new 100g, then take out the 80g, put the 100g with everything on it as drive 0, then put the blank 100g into as drive 1, then twiddle the switches under the keyboard for raid 1, and the drives should synchronize? am I on the right track here, I heard about some raid drivers, for XP, will those need to be installed to, and at what step?

Thanks.
