Dug out old computer, what games for it?

I recently dug out my old compaq, and hooked it up to my 50" toshiba tv through S-Video.
The compaq's specs are
Athlon XP 2400+
256mb ddr ram
120gb Hard Drive
ATI Radeon 9250 256mb DDR PCI
Windows XP Pro

I currently Play GTA Vice City at 1024x768 high, perfectly.
I also play Halo at 1024x768 Maxed out, with very few slowdowns (18-20fps Avg.)
In 3dmark01 it got 5300, so no real extreme games, please.
Thanks for any ideas!!!

Haha, gotta love those gamers that are behind the pack...Oh there are some gems out there though. Ranking these from greatest to least:

Mafia
Half-Life 1
CoD 1
Far Cry
Rainbow Six 3
Return to Castle Wolfenstein
CoD: United Offensive
Deus Ex
Medal of Honor: Allied Assault
S.W.A.T.

Some of these older games are still stressful and should be taken off the list IMO but if you consider 15-20 fps playable then you get by I guess. Personally, I prefer 60+ fps and cant go below 50.

Just for fun.....I tried HL2 E1 on it. It ran about 30fps at 1024x768 wih settings at a combo of medium and high, so i was kinda surprised at that.

Well I'm a big fan of Star Wars..

Star Wars Rebellion (if you like these type of 4X games)
Jedi Knight
X-Wing series
are my favorites

I always recommend Homeworld. That and its sequels are awesome fun, pretty much the best space RTS games. Esp when you get the Homeworld 2 - Star Wars mod - http://warlords.swrebellion.com

OMG another Rebellion fan!!!

I just found my copy and reinstalled it on my home file server.

Also just borrowed a friends copy of AoE2 and I installed my own copy of the Conqeurors expansion.

@OP- you should be able to run pretty much any older game that is based on the source engine, and any game that came out before counterstrike source. if you upgrade your ram you could probably run some newer rts games like aoe3. a friend of mine has a 3000+, 512mb ram, and a 7300 and he can run oblivion. if you just tweak your rig a bit and lower the settings on some of these newer games, you can just manage to squeak by with a playable framerate, Sorry if im not sounding too focused, im on painkillers at 6am. >.<

Hmm, a WWI mod? WWI just doesnt seem to be that interesting and most game developers agree with me. How is it, refreshing or good?

Digger!
Lode Runner!

..ok so it's not quite that old, but damn lol . hooking that old of a computer up to a 50" HDTV is blasphemy!

You want old-school? Try Starflight. That was kind of the bees knees back in the day. Waaay back in the day.

Like I said earlier. Mafia. Seriously I am so glad I decided to buy that game. I replay it about once every few months. Even my 6800 ultra dipped below 60 fps maxed out though and thats on dx8. Visuals were superb for the time but they still are pretty good now at higher resolutions.

Agreed--very good stuff. I'd also add KoTOR and KoTOR2. The only issues here are that ATI cards/drivers and KoTOR/KoTOR2 were notorious for not getting along.

As for mods on BF1942 Desert Combat and BattleGroup42 are must have.
