5320 Hinge just busted

Well, I was opening the old faithful 5320 and the right hinge snapped. I cant close it without putting stress on the left hinge and putting it in a position where it seems like it could snap too. Damage seems mostly internal, a small metal object that attaches the screen and hinge itself to the laptops body. I'm sure I could fix this myself. Does anyone know if Sager will sell me the part to fix this? If they dont have any idea of a place where I could order the part?.

I've never worked on the hinges, but I have replaced the LCD in a co-worker's computer. VERY easy. Instructions are readily found online. And getting at the hinges, I would imagine, would be as easy as getting at the LCD.

That being said, just email Sager Support and see if they won't sell you the parts. Can't imagine that it'd be a problem.

yeah contact sager support. my left hinge broke and i ordered a pair. They recommended i replace the pair since i was putting more pressure on the right hinge while it was broken. It was $40 shipped. here's a shot of the broken hinge

Same thing happened to the right hinge on my wife's 5320-C just now. So Sager does have the replacement hinge? And how is the LCD disassembly? Is there pics online anywhere for how to do it?

I'd absolutely love to spend only $40 and do this myself, since I am experienced in laptop dissasembly it should be a snap (no pun intended). However each chassis is unique, so I would love some pictures ahead of time to be prepared and not cause any further damage to the plastic or the LCD assembly.

Let me know gang.

Self-gratifying bump.

Any idea on how to fully disassemble?

I can get it most of the way apart, but it seems like there's something right in the middle of the chassis that holds it together. I mean i've taken practically everything out that might obstruct it, from heat sinks to HDD. Help please!
