OC Questions / Vista Question

Thread Starter
Alright.. I know a lot of you are thinking why would I even bother but here is my situation.. my laptop has 2gigs of ram, the AMD 64 X2 1.8ghz proc, and a NVIDIA Geforce Go 6150 gfx card. When I purchased it the specs for the card where VERY hard to find and I've been googling it and found places that have upped it to 128 in the BIOS (which I have done) then found other ways to up it to 512mb in Windows, but they don't list how or with what programs. I'm wondering if there is a way to dedicate or even share more of my system memory with my video card than I currently am.. or if there is any way I can drag more performance out of it then I currently am. Also if anybody knows the possibilities of switching over a Vista laptop back to XP and if I will be able to find compatible drivers etc. PLEASE share that information as well, vista is interested for a while but the bells and whistles just don't do it for me. Appreciate any help in advance and if I find anything while I'm googling I'll be sure to post it up for anyone else looking. The model number for my laptop @ compusa.com is dv9320US if anyone wants to take another look at the specs/information on it.

Thanks!

squeezing out extra ram on an integrated gpu is quite good, u might want to look into cleaning up startup processes and services to get more performance out of ur system. Faster hard drive would definitively helps if u haven't done so already

look into ur device manager, jot down manu and model, then search for xp drivers before deciding to re.install the system.

apart from certain devices that r still catching up on driver, i personally find no fault in vista in its current form at the moment. pure gamers might find it a bit slow (?) at the moment, but eventually one has to move to vista with the new graphic generation. anyway, a 20min vista installation will beat hours on xp anytime!

cheers ...
