I'm having a problem with the CPU temperatures on my Acer Aspire 5672WLMi. It's idling around 70 deg C... and on max CPU usage it just hits 90 deg C and dies.
I've looked at the fan and heatsink and there's really nothing to clean on it. The fan seems to power and spin just fine. I thought it was the CPU itself at first. I've replaced it with another thermal module from another 5672 and it seems to perform as normal.
Anywhere I get the part without having to send the entire thing back to Acer? It seems like such a waste of days to send it back (and being without a computer), when all it needs is this one part shipped to me.
I am going to try Acer's support phone number and see if I can wrangle them to send me the part. I even got the part number from the service manual - 60.AA7V7.006
It seems the only place I can get it in the US is a site - http://www.notebooksolutions.ca
Kinda costly and not sure how reputable this site is.
