Random Lockups in xp on new SR macbook pro

Hey folks, I recently purchased a SR Macbook pro and since I have a need for windows I use apple's bootcamp application. My problem is that I am having random lockups (hardlocks, no BSOD). It usually happens 1-10 minutes into XP I have done the following things in a attempt to remedy the problem with no luck.

Reset NVram
Format XP
drivers
system restore
safemode

I am also having the garbled screen issue BUT only when I am loading my XP disc in then it disapears.

My ideas are to somehow restore the firmware back to old version but I am unable to do that as it was technically a "successful update" would removing the ram and or formatting the entire hard drive make a difference?

Any help would be greatly appreciated, I love Mac's But this has really spoiled the new computer experience.

Just to be sure, likely not a problem since you aren't having problems in Mac OS, but run a memory check when you get a chance.

I am using the drivers that apple provides on the bootcamp disc.

I will give memtest a shot as well

Maybe give Nvidia Forceware drivers a try? I am not sure what Apple uses on their BootCamp disc.

well after much pulling of my hair out. I isolated it to the network card. idk why but it wouldnt lock up on wireless

Havent tested that I still have yet to update the drivers too. Just using wifi for now.
