ARRRGHHHH!! I can't get a video driver to work in my G1S. In Device manager, I have a PCI to PCI bridge that I can't get working too, could this be connected? I can't seem to get the decvice manager to see the video card. Can anyone offer any suggestions?

reedi: All I did was go to Laptop2go and downloaded the latest vid driver, 160.15 I think, replaced the .inf with the modded one...the installed. Worked fine for me...Did you remove Vista as well?

I removed Vista, wiped the HD and now am getting an error on the PM965 Express PCI Express Root Port - 2A01. When i run the setup.exe file in the driver from laptop2go and it tells me setup can't find any hardware that is compatible with this driver and will now exit.

can you still use dx10 after you remove vista?
No, Windows XP does not support DX10, the GPU will be running at DX9 mode under XP.
But under Windows XP, you gain 200 points on 3DMark.

but whats the point is 200 points alot?

I am having exactly same problem - have posted here in separate thread, hopefully someone will let me know how this can be fixed....

I was able to get 3,950 in 3dmark06 (without overclocking or any other modifications... I'm even running the original install of WinVista that came on the machine, with any bloatware that might be included) with some newer drivers. Of course, I had to roll back to a cruddy driver in order to get TimeShift to work (3dmarks dropped to 3,750), but still, I was able to get within 75 3dmarks with Vista as you get with XP. I'm not saying my comp is great, or that yours isn't. I just thought that someone was getting 5,000 in 3dmark06 with XP and our same notebooks.

you can keep XP but use DX10 using some new hacks some guys made. They let you apply DX10 to a DX9 XP install. just search on google... something like DX9 DX10 hack

I've tried every step-by-step guide I can and I can't figure out how to integrate the sata drivers into nlite. The drivers I found for the Intel PM965 were .exe files. When I try to integrate the drivers in nlite, it doesn't see any inf files in the driver folder I downloaded. I feel terribly stupid and just need to figure out how to finish this blasted slipstream process. Can anybody help me? Btw, the links on that guide review don't work.

Mhhh and hello everyone the link to the drivers does not seam to be working for me. Is it only me that can't download this file?
