upgrade to bios necessary?

I received my 8600 about 6 wks ago and so far so good. I believe it has the A02 bios (It's at home and I'm at work.) Is it worth upgrading if I'm not having any problems? Or should one ALWAYS run with the latest bios?
I used my service code to find bios a05 could it be if you use an general download could you be getting the wrong one???

Have you recently been to the dentist? If so I'd check to make sure the cotton balls aren't still in your mouth.

A05 effects ports on machines with a motherboard manufactured after 2/21/04. The ports are not detected with the bios update. This will be resolved in the next A06 release.

BTW.... if you are able to boot off of a USB key, you can manually revert back to a previous bios revision by using the forcetype and forceit parameters.

That is a very specific date, 2/21/04. Do you work for Dell? If so, which line of business?
