When I try to boot from a bootable CD ( XP restore disk or Linux ), all I get is the initial screen saying it's loading and then nothing. My BIOS is set to boot from CD first. My drive is a DVD-RW on a new 8890 and it loads and plays DVDs and CDs fine when in XP, so I know it's not a problem with the drive. Any ideas?
