The 8600m GT gets around the mid 3000's in 3dmark'06. That's pretty good!

god news!! the card arived but I am still in chile snowboarding so i wont be able to give you a result till mid saterday when i get home.. oh and boyd I will get some pics of the hill if you want lol but there is no boardpark just an assloa of powder. I bean snowboarding for over 10 years now so lol. anyways yea i checked some more info and the card is mxmII meaning that it cant draw more than 25wats wich is in fact less than the mxmIII x1900 i think and if need be I do have a laptop cooler and a prity good one at that. I am just about 99% sure that this card is going to be plug in and play just becasue we al know how awsome asus is and they woudent do something lame like make a different mxm format.
The only thing I worry about is the card being "Asus specific". Companies like Dell, Gateway, HP, etc make their laptop video cards more or less impossible to work with another brand of laptop. Companies like Acer and Asus are not known for doing this, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
My m5550 recognized and booted with my aftermarket x1900 with no problem, but I do not know what brand of machine it came out of.
If this works, I suspect there will be a lot of people ordering those cards!
Good luck and let us know.
