I have a Toshiba F15-AV201 widescreen laptop with a NVIDIA GeForce Go 5700 video card that came with the laptop. I purchased an LG 22" widescreen and the display is horible on the LG monitor. The highest resolution I can get for an external monitor is 1600x900 and that is 16:9 aspect ratio (like HDTV), where as the monitor native resolution is 1680x1050 and that is 16:10 aspect ratio (like most widescreen pc monitors). So pictures look tall and skinny and text is not sharp at all. I hooked up my IBM laptop (work laptop) to the 22" LG monitor and it was awesome. I set the resolution to 1680x1050 and the pictures are not morphed and the text and everything is very crisp.
Are there newer drivers for the NVIDIA GeForce Go 5700 video card that I can download that would allow that card to support 1680x1050? I searched and couldn't find anything newer than the version I got, which is 6.6.1.2 and Bios version 4.36.20.41.BE.
Thanks in advance for any help anyone can give me.
