Replacement 1520 for my 1505. Hell.

I recently have come against a failing battery so I chatted with Dell on the subject and long story short and a surprising outcome they are not sending me a new battery, but a whole new system. "This will be one of the currently shipping systems, is that ok?", they ask. "I guess that is ok.", I reply. Am I going to say no? Not a chance. So I am told 10 to 12 days and it will be in my hands and no longer. I watch my account everyday for the order and on Monday there it is, looks good, Vista instead of XP, not sure how I feel about that. Otherwise, stat for stat they matched my 1505, ram, hard drive, wireless card, but wait no Bluetooth. Damn. I think ok no big deal, let them know right away and they can cancel it and order one with bluetooth. Takes 2 days for someone to get back to me and them I am told that the new dell computers do not come with bluetooth and I will have to buy a usb dongle. I tell him he is lying. He says he will have someone call me back from escalations. This guy is a "supervisor" and the one that ordered my replacement. I get another call from a "manager", he is responding to the same email the last guy was. He is not from escalations. He tells me that the last guy was a new tech and did not know what he was talking about. He had not been trained on the "NEW" features that just came out for the dell laptops, bluetooth was something new. One guy says he is a Supervisor but is actually a tech and the Manager, both do not know what bluetooth is and that it has been available on dell laptops for some time now. I am waiting for my call from escalations and hoping it will be last person I have to talk to.

take the bluetooth out of your current laptop, its compatible with the new machine.

problem solved. not worht the hassle with dell on that. your already getting much more than you paid for. just deal with the BT yourself.

I have complete care, so I guess Dell wanted to take advantage of it. I guess I wasn't thinking about the bluetooth and using it out of my current computer. Now when they redid the order they totally screwed it up and I am waiting for a second cancellation and reorder and a call from corporate escalations. 24 to 48 hours has now turned into 96 and Dell no longer returns my emails. Oh well, I am not complaining, just amused I guess.

I believe you cant get a new 1520 without bluetooth so I wouldn't be concerned. Go on the site and configure one. It doesn't even give you the option. However at the end when you look at system specs, there it is.
Yeah, there is Bluetooth on the 1520, it's not a soldered-in part (it's a little card like the older systems) but I think it's a standard option since so many other manufacturers are doing likewise.
This is what i was implying. They don't come without one. Hence you can't get one without.

Great deal by the way.

It can come without bluetooth and apparently the woman that called me from Dell Corporate thinks it can come with a CDRW/DVD ROM drive and a DVD+/-RW drive as well and placed an order to that effect.
