I wish at least I had an estimate of my 9100 (ordered 3/22).. and customer rep in Canada keeps telling me everything is fine according to production.. that is, until I tell them there may be a delay due to some backorders .. then they don't have a clue of the possible ship date..
I just wish somebody gave me a day!!! Even if it is for June..

Horsey..
Hi Horsey!

I ordered 2/27. Yes, you read correctly -- 2/27. The good news for you is that I read/heard that a lot 9100s were being sent out. Keep calling and eventually someone will be able to answer your question (I hope).

I'm perfectly happy with the config I ordered and the price wasn't an issue... but seems to me that in order to be a good or even reasonable deal you should, I dunno, maybe actually GET the merchandise somewhere along the line....
LOL, Kev -- absolutely we should GET the machines...

You're absolutely right about the time for a reorder, but it would be cool if they could keep my place in line and just change to CPU! (It seems so easy...)

And the price hikes are ridiculous! Good grief, I wonder if Dell is creating "artificial" supply vs. demand scenario...shortages evoke some mystique in consumers' minds that the product must be good, otherwise there'd be enough on hand... Just throwing some creative thinking out there...

If I were to reorder, the laptop would ship between 4/21 - 4/26 -- at least that's what the rep told me.

Kev, are you planning to stick with your order?

Undecidedly,
Jen

Hi B.,

Thanks for the advice. I'll call tomorrow -- ahem, this morning -- and ask to speak with a sales manager and see what happens.

Congrats on your shipment! Bet you never thought you'd look forward to a Monday...

Just an FYI...

I called a sales rep on Wed to ask for some comp since I have waited so long for my i9100.... he was a little hesitant at first, but I ended up getting upgraded shipping and a free 3.2MP dig camera (the camera shipped Friday)

Don't know if it matters or not but I went through a corporate buying plan...

Order placed on 3/10, scheduled to ship 4/5

Is Dell's late delivery compensation completely ad hoc and determined by which rep handles your case/call?? I was never offered any free gadgets - just a 5% discount and free upgraded shippping for not getting my order in the system properly and $250 cost break for the production slip, in addition to the original 5% corporate discount and $250 rebate. I started this "adventure" with my iXPS 3.4 non-EE, order on 2/13; I am in boxing stage (supposedly), now. I never "asked" for anything when I called to check on my order or even brought up the topic of compensation; I just wanted to know when I would be getting the system. The reps just kept apologizing for the delays and why I shouldn't get a Sager or Alienware instead ( I had trouble getting them off the phone) and informing me that they were happpy to provide the applicable deductions.

Don't know if it matters or not, but I went through a corporate buying plan... and cc'ed the corporate main office Employee Programs Director on my response email to Dell asking why they had cancelled my initial order.
