Question re 5790 WUXGA and DVI output

Thread Starter
I am looking to buy a 5790 fairly soon with WUXGA and the 8700 video card. I know it's early days for this laptop but I hope someone can tell me that the 5790 can drive a WUXGA external LCD without problems.

I have a Dell 2405FPW which I would like to keep using as my primary display when in my office with the 5790. I know the specs (DVI, WUXGA) are the same btw. screen and laptop but before I drop a couple of thousand $ it would be reassuring to hear that "someone" has done this for real and that it all works - no picture offset or other weirdness that I at least have had in the past when connecting laptops to external LCDs.

Thanks for any help!

Sager 5790

yes, you can drive a WUXGA external LCD without problems. But you may want the 7950 video card since it is faster than 8700.

will this apply to the 5760 too? has a gf go 7900 gtx 512 mb ram, but the manual says it supports only up to 1600x1200 external monitor @ dualview..
