Hello All,

I have a Dell inspiron 6400 e1505 with Xp home. I recently installed xp pro but the media drect functionality stop working but when i used the dell drivers and app cd and went in MD2\repair.exe that just crashed everything with hal32.dll error... then i had to delete my 4 GB CP/M hidden partition as well as it got corrupted as well along with my os c drive... now I need to restore my media direct utility on my xp pro and also restore the functionality of that hidden 4 gb partition that is still hidden but can be seen with partiotion magic...

i also dont have the MD2 seperately or is it available on the dell drivers and app disk? please tell me a safe way to do it...

i also can't install the dell os tools as it says that it cant identify the system .. how can i do that.... i hope to hear from someone soon ... thanks

Regards,

Ansar

Why is it you think the MD partition is corrupted? You stated it is hidden. This is true so it should remain unharmed. How did you delete it? With the hitachi tool? I don't know how the dell driver cd goes but I do know that there is a specific order tha the drivers must be installed if downloaded off the site. Sounds like you need to start over. I know that even if you reformat the entire disc, the MD partition remaind unharmed. Only if you were to use a new harddrive would you have to reinstall MD2.
