Change video card and a small question

1) How do i change my video card, currently i have that intel onboard and i seen a nvidea card on ebay for about 60 dollars?

2)Is there a way to make my e1505 loose some weight so it is lighter to carry?

You can't, the video card is integrated into the motherboard.

You probably won't be able to remove anything out of the chassis either besides peripherals.. maybe the optical drive, but I doubt that will give you any weight savings.

whats the heavyest part?

and there no way to remove that on board chip and install a new one?

onboard means not removable. The system boards that come with integrated video simply don't support add-in cards AFAIK. They are even different chipsets (945GM vs 945PM).

You would have to replace the motherboard to support a dedicated video card. Once you open the system, the hookup will not be there. ($210 from dell) I have done this. There isn't much to gain except much shorter battery life. I guess in turn you could get the 6 cell battery to save weight in your current system but that probably won't be as much a loss you are looking for. I believe the integrated to last almost 4 hours off AC power so the 6 cell would be approx 2/3 of that.

Take out the battery. That will make it lighter.

Or, if you really want it lighter, remove the screen.

Better yet, sell your computer, and my an M1210 or an M1330

(I'm just kiddin around)
