t7600 vs T7600G - Page 4

that is correct, though every chip is different so results may vary... 2.8 puts you at a decent speed, with normal fan speeds. You might consider 2 things. #1 using some AS5 on that install & #2, using a program to lower the voltage, which will also reduce heat..Notebook hardware Control or RMclock can do that for you
post #62 of 85
Cool Already have notebook control on my 2.16 lowering the volts so yeah when I get the chip that will not be an issue, and have AS5. Now do people run that chip at that speed at all times, or should I have it on some kind of speed stepping for it?
I leave mine in dynamic mode (speed step) The switch to 2.8Ghz is instantaneous. I know pople see th speed switch on thier screen & it looks slow, but on the processor it's instant & there is no noticable performance loss.

My main issue with these processors is how high the voltage is for the 6X multi. I bet we could lower it way under 0.95 V if the vids allowed for it. No way to change that but through hardware though and it would be awfully ironic if I broke my processor in an attempt to make it run cooler.

Edit: Yes I realize I'm a bit off topic

yeahh, .7 would be nice.

Okay I have my t7600 Clocked at 2.83 and volts down to 1.2625v and pushing close to 80c with a full load. Is this temp okay for this clock speed?
yep that is perfect

the T7600G is the same CPU as the T7600, but has unlocked factory set multipliers that can be enabled/disabled.

As for benchmarks (Alienware 2.67 Ghz overclock)
(T7600) 3DMARK06 cpu 1997
(T7600G)3DMARK06 cpu 2020
(roughly the equal of a T7700)

I've got the T7400 in my M5750 - would the AW bios update allow me to OC the 2.16GHz T7400?

what's the big deal with bringing back old posts? is there some loophole in logic where an issue that's a month old is an issue no longer? in that sense, the 'rep points thread' or 'how to upgrade your 9300 with the 7800gtx' should be left alone. wait, no, there's been at least one person posting a day on each, so it's ok to post there. this is the single stupidest unwritten rule in forums. i bet some forums wrote it down, too.

I know you guys didn't really get mad about it which is kind of cool, but you still have that illogical stigma. I really hate it when you "necropost" and you get the shit flamed out of you.

by the way, not on the offensive! just wanting to know if someone had a reasonable explanation for this widespread hard-wired reaction.

of course, that makes perfect sense from the guy that had nothing better to do than learn how to play the guitar instead of hanging out with friends, plays video games to pretend he has an adventurous life, and goes to the gym because he thinks that'll get him laid. which it does, with fat chicks.

I'm sorry, I didn't mean to say any of that, it's just the PMS. sometimes it's just out of control! :-)

Dude! I love my guitar! I absolutely WON'T stand for this! The rest of it is true though...
I play the guitar too, but I haven't been playing it as much as I have Guitar Hero and Rock Band... go figure.

***OFF TOPIC***

How do rate Rock Band VS. GH3? What kind of axe do you play?
