i had decided to upgrade the 4 acer aspire 5102's i bought for realweb development, and decided to try out different upgrade possibilities with lower priced ram before i bought into the 2x2gb setup for each

i bought kingston, crucial, azen, and nanya

all except the azen ram worked, but for some reason the kingston ram would not work right when i chose to use 256mb video ram (same on all 4 notebooks).. very strange!

overall the cheapest, easiest, and most confident buying experience was online (?!) from crucial. they scanned the notebooks and suggested different configs for each based on how it was populated.

then it certified compatibility for each! pc5300 (667) at cheap prices, fresh from the micron factory. i will be buying my 2gb sodimms from crucial. just thought you should know!
