The system with the faster FSB and RAM is cheaper. It's listed as having an E6600 vs. the other having a T7700. I read that the E6600 is a bit faster than the T7700 because its a desktop processor....... so with all that in mind - why is the first system listed cheaper??!

Check the ram again its 800 vs 667 that would be the only reason, everything else is identical. Ram chips are fickle, it all depends on the maker and what kind of deal the builder can get. Check other places, you can always get it with the minimum ram and replace it yourself with even cheaper chips.

Same thing goes with intel, one day they have a special for builders, next day its off.

Well the CPU for one.. the desktop chip is just cheaper than the laptop one.
Newegg sells the E6600 for only $230 while the T7600 (yea I know they don't sell the T7700) is going for $650.

Do you know what kind of RAM would fit one of these Hypersonics? I went to Crucial but they dont have Hypersonic listed.

So which system should I go for?

I have the EX7 (Clevo 900T) so I would be saying the EQ7. Same machine just better chips than what I have. One reason is that even though the SR7 has the Santa Rosa board, you are running it on vista, and until all the fixes are in on vista I hesitate to go that way. I had thought that all the problems would have been fixed by now and we would all be in C2D/Santa Rosa/DX 10 heaven, but we are not. Probably not until the end of the year from what I have been seeing. Personally I would stay away from vista as well, too many problems still.

When looking up ram look under the Clevo manufacturer they make the EQ7 for Hype. As far as ram I like Corsair they are sometimes a little more expensive than Crucial but I havent had any problems with them. And I have used Crucial as well so again I have nothing bad to say about either one.
