Solved the "clicky" sound problem with Sound Blaster X-FI Notebook!

Hi,

Me and many with me have had problems with the the Sound Blaster X-FI Extreme Audi Nootebook Express-card. The problem was that the sound had "bumps" and "clicks" in it when playing an mp3 or listening to virtually any audio source.

I've been trying for some time now to solve the problem and i finally found the problem, and i found it where i least expected to find it....

Shutdown I8kfanGUI and you are set!

I don't know why the program is causing problems with either the sound card or the express-card slot, but everytime i turn the application on again the "clicks" return in the audio stream.

Please post any suggestions...

I have a Dell Inspiron 9400 (E1705)

Regards,
Marcus

If you are using I8kfanGUI to customize fan control it's possible that switching fan on/off or changing speed causing some interference with speakers or or mic(or mic channel, if there is no mic) Try to set fans on the always on with fixed speed and see if it will help. Also you may try to play with monitoring frequency of I8kfanGUI .
