Okay... Are there any official WORKING instructions available that have been verified to be correct in getting drivers working? I HATE vista and want to go back to XP, but last time I tried going to XP with these instructions, nothing worked.

Belmont, thanks so much for these drivers. I finally got sick of Vista yesterday and used your driver pack to install XP onto my Toshiba. The only one that isn't working correctly is the ethernet driver (not Wi-Fi) but it's not a big deal.. I'm sure it won't take much to get it working. I haven't even used the ethernet port since I've gotten the laptop anyway. Ahhh, XP works so much better than God-forsaken Vista! Thanks again Belmont!

hey BelmontSlayer , i got toshiba satellite A215 S4697 from my friend, i also have some problem to downgrade windows vista became XP,
n i think you have all the answer, but when i try to download it, the session is expired, would you upload again your driver list?
i really need your help, thanks before

The download works fine. You must be using a shared IP that RapidShare doesn't like. I'd upload it somewhere else, but RS is the only place that gives me decent upload speeds.

Ok I have done all of the tips here on getting the vid driver going and I can not get it to go. I keep getting a mesg. saying " Setup did not find a driver compatible with your current hardware or OS, Setup will now exit."

and when I go thought device manger I get there are no drivers for the selected hardware no matter what choice I use.

I am not dumb, but this is my first laptop, could some one help me here, I love this laptop but the drivers for this thing are a pain in the rear. Please help


EDIT::: I went back to Vista, it is all I can use till Toshiba puts out drivers for XP, I need the FN keys to work and well they will not work with out some XP driver being put out by them...

Go thru your device manager/driver file, and get a list of the hardware in your machine and compare it with other models with the same hardware and use those drivers

IM CLAUDIA FROM MEXICO, I bought a laptop 3 months ago, model A215-S4697, really i hate vista, then i change my O.S. to WINDOWS XP, o my god!
the problem drivers, anyway, finally i found drivers for xp. All working!!
Only the FN functions dont work.
but, video, sound, network, wifi, chipset, etc it work
only a thing... the processor should work 1.6 ghz, but with xp work at 800 mhz, then you need install the processor's drivers, that drivers is in amd support page.
i have an account of megaupload, and i upload the drivers for you guys!
sorry for my english, but i dont speak, or write well, im from mexico and im only speaks spanish, but i try to write in english for you.
the xp drivers for a215-s4697 !!!
Ahora en espanol para los que si me entiendan, compre hace 3 meses una computadora a215 de toshiba, el problema fueron los drivers cuando la intente cambiar a XP, por fin despues de tanto tiempo los encontre, solamente no funcionan los de la tecla FN, aun no he encontrado esos, pero
tengo una cuenta de megaupload y ahi subire los drivers.
Cuando pones xp, el procesador que debe trabajar a 1.6 ghz solo trabaja a 800 mhz, pero pones los drivers del procesador y ya...
estan en la pagina de amd.

Choose the manual installation, dont let Windows search for the driver. Choose from the device list what you want to install. Choose "have disk", drill down to the folder where the INF file is stored along with other related files (sys, dll)

You can also search for the XP driver from the 200 series - it is the same.

Two Drivers I Still Need.

I have used the information in this forum to get my Toshiba A215-S4697 converted over to XP. However, all of the driver packages that I have downloaded have not been able to get my Ethernet Controller or my Video Controller working. If anyone has the correct drivers to help me please tell me where I can get those two. Thank You!
