Inspiron 9300 Vista clean installerror: Can't find Hard Drive / Not reading Drivers

Hi,

My harddisk drive recently crashed and i bought another harddisk drive to replace it. However as i was trying to install Vista into the new hdd, it says:

"No drives were found. Click Load Driver to provide a mass storage driver for installation"

I downloaded the IDE driver from the dell support site (R107305) and put it on a usb, but when i try to load the drivers it says:

"No devise drivers were found. Make sure that the installation media contains the correct drivers"

I also executed the driver which unzipped as WDDEL023 but Vista installation still didn't recognise it.

So my question is what do i do? Anybody with any ideas how to get vista to recognise and install the driver? Or is there another way i can install the driver outside of Vista?

Or is my only option to get the drivers disk from dell? If so, is there somebody that can post the iso image of the Driver Disk so i can burn it? (i bought my laptop in america but am now based in Thailand so i'm not sure of who to make the request from, and besides. i'm sure the people here can help much faster than dell can...)

Thanks in advance

OK, I figured it out. For future reference here is what i did:

My HDD was a WDC Scorpio so I downloaded Data Lifeguard Tools 11.2 for DOS (CD) from link below...

One of the problems which i encountered was burning the iso image. Apparently theres a special method of burning an iso image to make it bootable, so instead of playing around with all the variables, i just used BurnCDCC which you can get from

http://www.terabyteunlimited.com/utilities.html

Once you burned the iso image. Make sure you set BIOS to boot from CD Drive and run lifeguard tool and get it to install driver for you. After that, MAKE SURE you go to the maintence option and remove the DDO because if you forget this, you will have to do the installation again.

Now switch your BIOS to boot from the HDD first otherwise the following msgs will appear

"Computer's hardware may not support booting to this disk. Ensure that the disk's controller is enabled in the computer's bios menu"

and

"Windows is unable to find a system volume that meets its criteria for installation"

Once BIOS is changed to boot HDD first, Vista will install properly after that.
