you mean why is part of it outside the circle? because the way I set up the font means it doesn't quite fit inside the circle. doesn't bother me none

im looking for a monitoring program that is basically just writing in the backround... any ideas?

why not just use GkrellM ?

i do, and its the best ive found so far. even the temp guauge works out of the box...

it just can be rather cluttered, and id like a transparent option. i know ive seen people with simple text guages on their desktop and that is exactly what i want. no messy boxes, just font on my pretty backround picture.

Gkrellm can do transparent. just need the right skin. I haven't used it in a while, so I couldn't tell you which one it is, but I always used the transparent skin (like the pick abf posted)

sunuva! i lost my post!

i browsed the skins for gkrelm, and didnt see anything transparent (nor could i really tell what was and wasnt transparent)... i was directed to htop, so i plan to d/l and attempt to install and configure it.

abf nailed the hammer on the head with his d/t. thats practically exactly what i am looking for.

zephapod..what you are looking for is conky (i heard about it before, just never really used it so didn't remember the name).
