HP pavilion dv6000 - recovery manager gone

my first problem with the HP pavilion so my first post here as well.

a short summary:
HP pavilion with Vista home premium, bought 2007
i did not study the thing with the HP recovery closely, just noticed that it works directly from the hard drive. so i did not create any recovery discs.

when i resized partitions (from C: to partition with some documents), the programme crashed and suddenly the black screen said to use the recovery disc (that i did not have).

so i installed other Vista i had, all drivers from hp site and all works fine.

just 2 things: the device manger shows 3 remaining devices without a driver, and i do not know what devices that should be.

i still have got the recovery partition (that was never involved in any actions by changing partitions). there are 4 GB of data on the partition. but no setup file or something like that

so does someone know how to get a recovery disc or the installation of the HP software out of the recovery partition?

any help would be appreciated

just read about other retailer that hitting F8 will allow to boot from the recovery partition.

can the HP notebooks be booted from the recovery partition?

you can actually call HP to send you the recovery disc. heard that it's free.

but if you get it, i would appreciate it if you can send me a copy as HP is only sending the disc within USA but i'm in asia

For hardware, check your device manager. in vista, this can be accessed by going to: control panel>click on" system and maintenance">click on "view hardware and devices" under "Device manager." go there, and it should clarify what drivers are not properly installed by indicating the name and a red "x" on it. As for the recovery partition, I know on my HP Pavilion this can be accessed by pressing "F11" when you start up your computer. (the very first boot up screen when you can also go into system setup, boot menu, etc.) good luck let me know how it goes.

You can create your own recovery discs. On my HP, this can be done by going to Start > Programs > Recovery Manager > Create Recovery Discs Follow the on-screen instructions from there. Good luck.

the problem is that pressing F11 does not help, as the new windows installation deletd the recovery manager

further, i am not in US and as far as i know, getting the recovery discs costs a lot

so is it possible to download HP recovery manager????
