LCD Problem - is the backlight or the inverter?

OK, I have a Latitide C840 with a backlight problem. It turns on OK, seems to boot & function normally. However, anywhere from 1 - 5 minutes after I turn it on, the LCD backlight just turns off. I took it apart & re-seated all of the connections but that didn't seem to make a difference. Doesn't seem to be a loose connection anywhere, and I can't get it to come back on by moving it, twisting it, etc.

So before I start buying parts, just wondering if anyone knows whether this is likely to be a backlight or converter (or other!) problem?

The Inverter is under $30 last I purchased one. It more than likely is your problem.
