802.11 wireless card problem

Thread Starter
Here is one for everyone. When I sit right next to my router (Netgear MR814) I can access the internet and my network perfectly.
However, when I move about 50 feet away from it I lose internet and network connectivity. When I check the signals my computer still says that I am connected to the network and that I still have the same IP address and everything.
I am currently letting Gigabyte's wireless utility controll my card.
Any thoughts or suggestions to help me resolve this?

Hello ...

I have no connection at all. Even right next to the Netgear router.

@Paledrifter. Are the internal antenna wires attached correctly?

@Euclid have you read the maual? There is a key combo that turns off and on the internal wireless. If it's not seen by windows it may be turned off. Also is it realy in there? It could have been forgotten from the factory, unlikely but it could happen.
