hi
I am replacing the thermal pads on my ms-1029. My problem is that the heat sink for my gpu doesn't have good contact. No i didnt find this out by killing it
, but i read the original review thred some years back and i expected this problem to arise.
I applied artic silver 5 to the gpu die and set the cooler on it. When i took it off i checked for even distribution on it. Needless to say, no it didn't. I read on the review thread that people, when replacing the thermal pads, paced a small metal sheet between the cooler and the gpu.
I don't know where they got it so, if i cut a small square out of the metal protective thing from a floppy would it work?
any replies are appreciated
thx
