I have an Aspire 3680. I have altered the partition structure (leaving the hidden partition intact). The D2D function no longer works. Is there anyway of recovering this function? I have made backup DVDs of the hidden partition. Thanks

Following the above post: The Aspire 3680 came with Vista Home Basic. I changed the partition sizes (leaving the hidden partition intact). Alt 10 no longer worked. I tried mbrwrwin install rtmbr.bin from the cmd line within Vista. It would not work. When I started Vista in safe mode with command prompt (F8) I could then run mbrwrwin install rtmbr.bin and it worked perfectly. You do need to be able to extract mbrwrwin.exe and rtmbr.bin from the hidden partition. I did this by backing up the partition with Acronis and then extracting the files from the backup. Hope this helps someone.
