Guild Wars. Cheap, great community, cool classes and stuff, everything you could want in an MMO and its free. WoW may be better (never played it) but its like 15 dolla a month.

Another vote for GuildWars ... lots of fun, and there will probably be new people joining up since an expansion pack is coming out Aug 31st. There is a one time fee to buy the game, but you just need the original to get going (Prophecies) ... then, if you like it, you can add Factions, Nightfall, and the newest pack down the road.

Yeah one thing about Guildwars is the massive dev support. They release a new expansion pack around every 6-10 months. Guild Wars 2 is supposed to come out some time in 2008.

I suggest you sell the lamborghini, the porshe and the delorian and build yourself one.

I suggest WoW if you have money and do not have a life. Also marcy, how do you intend on playing with broadband? I find it gets laggy sometimes on my 8mbps internet let alone your 50kbps connection.

Guild wars I suggest as well however you have to be somewhat out going as a lot of quests require a group effort and I personally found that sometimes to be a pain. Also I'm not sure what your feelings are on an MMO, but guild wars is more "guided" than other MMOs. It requires you to follow a general path through the whole game rather than a game like WoW. On the other hand, WoW has no plot line, it's simply Alliance vs. Horde and all you do is get gold. I find it fun as well as others, but there is no feeling of achievement really.

So....

Guild Wars:
Pros-Great graphics:Coop opportunities:good firm story
Cons-Coop needed sometimes:Internet should be high speed:Not a whole lot of room for roaming

WoW:
Pros-Coop rarely needed:Very open ended
Cons-Coop rarely needed:Not a whole lot of a final target (besides leveling):Internet should be high speed

Alright then I would suggest giving guild wars a go. I am trying to play it again because I thought it was a pretty awesome game myself although I'm not much of a cooperative player. But maybe I'll enjoy it more this time. Plus....AP American work or Guild wars....easy to answer

Have you checked out Dark Age of Camelot?

Well i figure i would give it a flame. . . better late then never. You will never use 8Mmbps in WoW . If you lag it's your computer or your latency. Please keep in mind latency and down speed have virtually nothing to do with each other. At OP, I have had good luck with WoW so far. . . though i am eagerly awaiting the release of "Pirates of the burning sea". Look it up PS. too lazy to spell check and too drunk to spell.

WoW for a 15 monthly fee, or if you want to be part of Warhammer online which should be releasing fairly soon

it sounds like you want GW.........my choice has been EVE for the insane detail to market and skill specialization; played it for about three years, currently on hiatus until may........but many folks dont like EVE because it can seem either overwhelming for those who want a simple game or too cumbersome for those who find the piloting/combat control to be wierd.

15 bucks a month though with all expansions included; very beautiful space scenery with over 5000 individual star systems......maybe even more with recent expansions.

i love it but each to his own.

A couple of choices:
Tabula rasa - sctfi theme - was ok - 15/mo
LOTRO - wow lite - nice story - 15/mo
GW - I kinda like it, dont play it much - free/mo
wow - kinda owns - 15/mo - once you get used to the features in wow its hard to play shittier mmos - ie mail, ah, lfg, interface custom, etc
all the korean stuff - fail too much olympic gold grind - 15/mo or free while in crap beta mode
eve - vertical learning curve - 15/mo?

I am back to wow - I have played everything that has ever come out since AOL NWN/DSO/meridian 59/UO and its the best overall game as you can play - raid/pvp/arena/casual/alts as distinct games to fit what you want to invest in it...I am a casual raider - dont have time/drugs to be a serious raider.

Anyways have fun.
