Hi All,

i have a US model pavilion DV6000t. but since i'm in asia, HP will not send me the disc set. anyone with the notebook can call HP to request for a free disc to be send over, but they only sent to US address.

so, does anyone here have the disc? mind if you can upload for me to download or send them to me? i'm willing to pay for the shiping charges.

thanks

you should be able to create them yourself. do this by going to start > programs > recovery manager > create recovery discs.

Hi there, do you still need these discs? i have just purchased a set of recovery discs for a dv6190eu, its a uk model but would be similar software i would think, only thing is they are dual layer dvd's so burning them and posting would be the only option i would think, any help to you?

Just wanted to check do you require the recovery set for the entire system? or the operating system recovery disc? i happen to have both, could possibly upload the o/s one!

backup all your files. after that reboot your system and once you see the HP logo start hitting F11. it will boot to the recovery partition and you can restore it without cd's and you then should be able to create them after that. i recommend you update the BIOS before or after you do this. HP came out with a new BIOS update in November for almost all the dv2000's, 6000's, and 9000's.

Danieln, as you are able to access your system (since it told you that back up disks were already written), then [INFO]NOS has the best solution. A recovery run, will re-set up your system as "virgin", allowing you to re-run the recovery disk creation process...unless of course you already have a lot of files that you do not want erased.

Another thought, if HP will only ship the disks to a U.S. address, is there an applicable APO address where you are? That for all purposes is a "US" address, and HP should have no issue shipping to an APO.

Unfortunately, I do not have the same notebook as you do (got the dv6625us), similar, but different...
