hey guys. nice pics. but you have t tell me, are you guys running the game smoothly? i just went over the forum of 2k games after reading gamespot review saying that there some nasty issues with sound on vista and also with activation.

So if some1 has played this on their vista machine and on 7 series cards please reply how is the game working. the game is releasing tomm here in NZ and have preordered by giving 20$. but still have to give 50$ tomm(weirdly they had $20 off on preorder for 89.90 game). i can cancel it then.

im playing just the demo on Vista, on a 7600, so cant report on the activation. i only got my video settings on medium because I already know it cant push my 1680x1050 LCD, but the only time ive heard audio problems is when its on the loading of a new level and working the hard drive a lot, otherwise its just fine

Let's talk about BIOSHOCK ...

So, now that the demo is out, and some of us have the game ... what do folks think? Does it live up to the hype? Are you enjoying it? Are you Harvesting or Rescuing?

I'm loving it. I think I like the retro feel, as well as the options/choices wrt plasmids and tonics (love to shop!). I'm playing it on easy ... which is a bit too easy ... but, it does make the story flow.

The game is supposed to be awesome from what I've heard. I guess they are having lots of trouble with production problems. Problems like only getting 2 downloads per game if you buy offline. Also, they say sony added another one of those spyware packs with it and didn't tell anyone.

They've already adjusted the authentication/number of installs from 2 to 5. There is the issue of it using Secure-Rom, or whatever the DRM is ... but it gave me no problems.

Curious to get some comments from people who are in the midst of the game, or who have already finished it.

I thought the demo was pretty fun. Can't run it at full screen on my laptop. . Still looks really nice at 1440x900 with full effects though. The cinematics are amazing. The plane crash & the descent in the bathysphere was pretty cool. I almost considered buying it. However, what killed it for me was the demo video at the end. Where the player is showcasing all the different ways to kill baddies. It all looked a bit like Unreal Tournament with a plot. Also, As I get older, I don't care much for games that scare the crap outta me. I played System Shock 2 a few years ago and that was awesome. Now, being startled is not my idea of fun anymore. The final nail in the coffin was the release of the Medal of Honor: Airborne demo a few days ago. I have been playing the heck outta that. Trying to unlock all the awards for each weapon, practicing flaring my chute, etc. Way more fun than BioShock. But to each their own I guess.

I just played the demo.....surprised that is ran well on my 7900gs desktop card. It gave me the same amount of satisfaction that HL2 did so I'd say IMO it is a great game. Retro is cool, plasmids are cool. I'll prob pick up the full game later on when I'm not as busy as I am now.
