So if some1 has played this on their vista machine and on 7 series cards please reply how is the game working. the game is releasing tomm here in NZ and have preordered by giving 20$. but still have to give 50$ tomm(weirdly they had $20 off on preorder for 89.90 game). i can cancel it then.
I am running it on Vista Home, 2gb memory, on a geforce 7950 gtx and it runs fine ( although I am thinking of running in xp to take advantage of sli). I hade to install twice, the first time did not work , and I also installed the new invidia drivers...hope this helps you

I think you will enjoy it, I am loving it, and the graffix are awesome. Cant wait to play some more this weekend

Heh, I find it much better to use a mouse and WASD (Because D is where it's at!) for FPSes.

I don't know why you keep saying that. You're in the minority if you think using a 360 controller is easier than a mouse and keyboard for FPS.

Here's a tip. All FPS and 3rd person shooters are easier and more fun to play on the keyboard and mouse vs any controller...

racing games and GTA like games are better for controllers

New Bioshock bug-fix patch is heavy on 'bug', light on 'fix' But this is next-gen gaming right? You can fix these things with a simple patch, put it on Xbox LIVE and presto. Sorted… …Or that’s the idea anyway. Unfortunately it seems that the latest patch hasn’t quite managed to fix these pressing issues and, disastrously, might even have made things worse. Some users have now reported that since the patch, their games lock up even more than before and have even started crashing. This is believed to be a hard drive cache problem that could, in some cases, be solved by clearing the cache before playing. That’s the seamless console gaming experience right there. Oh and that tactic is not working for every one.
Anyone running into this be it PC or Console Vers. of the game?

Mine is running sporadically now. Sometimes it runs for an hour, then crashes, back to windows screen. Last night I tried playing, and 10 minutes in, it crashes, reboot, and 10 minutes later it crashed. I gave up, with the load times, iand the crashes it just sapped the life out of my gaming experience. I dont think it is my rig, I am running a brand new Alienware 9750, with vista, 2g memory. I have all the effects turned up high, maybe I turn them down and try again.

No from what I have seen and what is being reported it is an issue with the game not your rig.

Duke, when I installed Bioshock, it immediatly brought me to the Nvidea site, and asked me to update drivers which I did for the 7 series of cards. Is this the beta, and if it is not, where can I find those drivers? I Appreciate your help.

Just finished it last night,I didn't have high hopes with the surrounding hype etc,but was pleasantly surprised and found the story quite engaging, graphics look very nice, even on my mediocre latop.
I particularly liked how the game didn't turn to crap towards the end like most FPS do,yknow.......we've run out of ideas,so we'll just throw more and more baddies into the fray.
I usually get bored with FPSer's that the whole game is played inside [doom3style] but this game is unusual and different, and I think the makers should be commended for adding a bit of variation with weapons, plasmids, powerups etc.
Only thing I can say bad about it is that it seemed to be very difficult to tell which direction sounds were coming from, like it was in mono or something[it wasn't]
And I only had one crash back to desktop in the whole game
