TV out doesn't work on nc8430

I have some problems when trying to use TVout on my nc8430. I use some S-video to cinch converter and then connect it to the TV via a cinch single wire (as I always used to when I had my PC). On my notebook, I can't make it to work. The ATI CCC doesn't detect the TV, so I try to force it to use it, but still no luck - the TV seems to have no signal at all.

Are there any workarrounds about this? Do I need to activate the TVout somewhere else other than in the ATI CCC?

hey i have an hp dv2000 with nvidia it has an s-video but i also connect it to a converter the laptop did not recognize the connection so nothing showed on tv.. i finally managed to figure it out it was from the nvidia control panel settings that i have to change the output device from s-video to composite device
