CPU temperature M68xx

Anyone tried the newest version of SpeedFan? 4.32
Suddenly, besides the hard disk temperature there's also another temperature listed, labeled Core, AMD K8!
Could this finally be the much sought-for CPU temperature sensor?
There's gotta be one somewhere, otherwise how do the fans control themselves?

On-die sensors have been standard on all recent cpus.

I know that, but, a bit of history behind this issue for ya. Us M68xx haven't had any luck seeing our CPU sensor temp with various programs, afaik.

I'm pretty sure SpeedFan indeed shows the CPU temp. I used Notebook Hardware Control to throw the CPU and lock it at 2 GHz and that temp started going up quick. When it went over 45*C, the fans kicked in and stopped when the temp went down at 40*C

And this isn't anything new, Speedfan just happened to add support for it recently. Before that a prog called CoreTemp was used. It's an on-die sensor, meaning the interface is controlled by Intel/AMD, and has been there/been the same ever since 2004 or so. Assuming it is the core sensor you're seeing.
