I have got HP pavillion dv6059ea, came preinstalled with windows XP. I updated to windows vista home premium (32bits) and for some odd reasons, my intergerated wireless lan doesn't work. It is broadcom 4310(I guess).

Can somebody suggest something in this regard!

Did you try looking on the HP/Compaq website for a Vista Driver update for the
broadcom 4310 intergerated wireless lan, might be a good place to start?

Actually, the issue is not with the drivers. For some strange reason, my integerated wlan adapter is not detected in windows vista and doesn't appear in the network connections. There are only two icons there, 1 for ethernet controller and other for bluetooth connection. Interestingly, the button on my lappy to switch on/off the wlan/bluetooth works only for bluetooth. I have also HP wireless assistant installed. When I switch off the button, the light goes red and the HP assistant shows a message bluetooth:disabled and nothing about wireless lan.
Same works for switching on the wlan.

Can some1 suggest something about it?

Unless you actually have a Wireless Network hooked up (or your near one) you won't see an Icon, cuz there is nothing for it to connect to, both my MX6447 & MX6453 Gateway Notebook's do the same thing (it displays NO ICON) unless I'm near a HotSpot, then it will try to connect to it........the only way to really TEST this out, is to take your notebook near a Hotspot where a wireless signal is present, so, if there is no broadcast near, then NO ICON will be seen!!! I hope this helps..........However, if you do have a wireless lan up & running, and (your near a Hotspot) but you still can't see anything, then you may have a problem with your wireless lan card
