How to force a resolution on external monitor?

Hey guys, I play WoW on my notebook and I thought it would be a good idea to have an external monitor for looking stuff up as I'm playing.

Enter my Westinghouse 19w6 I bought a year or so ago. A buddy of mine tells me that its best if both displays are at the same resolution and this monitor only shows a widescreen resolution of 1440x900. So my question is... my notebook has a native resolution of 1280x800, is there any way to force the external monitor to this resolution? I would try the Omega drivers but they haven't been released for Vista yet.

Thanks.

So the computer only has to process 1 resolution instead of 2.

It still has to process two....they are separate displays...unless you just mirror them.

What video card & VRAM do u have?

I have an Nvidia 7900GTX/512mb and have several different profiles set with multiple resolutions, aspect ratios, and desktops. No problem.

Somewhere in my settings there is a box to check "allow desktops to have different resolutions."

If u have an Nvidia card make sure you enable Nview desktop manager to access more options.
