So who has two laptops?

Thread Starter
Just wanna see who has two laptops and what they use it for. I mean I'd imagine everyone having a work/portable laptop but do many dabble into multiple laptops. Also how far apart where your purchases (other words how recent are these laptops). I'm thinking of buying a gaming notebook to accompany my macbook pro.

m1210 - uni. gaming on the train. (2 months ago)
9300 - main home computer. gaming, watching movies, music, taking to lans, the usual. (2 years ago)

Personally I think I won't get another 'gaming' laptop (9300), as its just a bit pointless. Its great to take to lans, but that doesn't happen that often. Otherwise its just annoying that i can't upgrade it much further (i.e. motherboard etc). Its not really 'portable'. And throwing away the laptop+screen is a waste.

The m1210 (12" ultraportable) is great though, much more of a 'laptop' then the 9300.

My next gaming machine will probably be a desktop.

iBook G4, work mostly.

HP Jornada 720, not exactly a laptop but comes close when portability is a must.

NEC Versa bought mid 2000/Still used every day for office stuff. Retired from internet duty.

'Prancing Horse' bought in 2005/Used for gaming/office/photoshop and internet.

Next machine will probably be when the warranty runs out on this one, so possibly October 2008.

Dell M1710 for power, gaming, do ANYthing. I've had it for 15 months and it's still a beauty to behold and use.

Dell D420 for ultra-mobility around the house and on trips. Used for surfing, email checkup, "reading". (I have 2 literature CDs loaded via ISO and VCdControlTool.)

Bought the M1710 while I was still an addicted gamer (currently on extended sabbatical). Bought the D420 about 10-11 months later. Only minor hiccups with 2 laptops is syncing I.E. favorites (currently doing an export/import over and back) and copying the occasional file saved on the 420 to the 1710.
