I have an Advent 7017, which works OK on mains power, but when I switch to battery it cuts out after a few minutes. At first I thought I needed a new battery, but when I started off mains then switched to battery, it showed that my battery still had nearly 100% of charge in it.
Sometimes it will not start on mains when the battery is installed, when I take it out, it comes on.
I would hate to buy a new battery and find that I still have the problem.
I have run Batmon and it shows my battery as 100% full, but it only runs for a few minutes then the laptop shuts down, it doesn't do this on mains power.
When I switch it back on using mains, it still shows the battery as fully charged. so I don't think it is shutting off because the battery is running down.
The battery is fully charged, but as soon as I take out the mains the laptop shuts off.
