Please help me choose a laptop

Hi there, i have joined this forum simply to answer this question!! help would be much appreciated.

I have narrowed my search down. I want a laptop that can play games such as oblivion and half-life 2 - new games arent overly important - if it cant play bioshock then it isnt a big deal (but would be nice if it could)

I have 2 choices:

1. A dell laptop with:

An Intel® Core™ 2 Duo T7100 Processor (1.8GHz,800MHz,2MB L2 cache
2048MB 667MHz Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM (2x1024)
160GB (5400RPM) SATA Hard Drive
256MB nVidia® GeForce® 8600M GT


or an acer laptop with:

Intel Core Duo T2350 1.86Ghz 667FSB 2MB L2 Cache
160GB fast SATA (5,400rpm)
2gb RAM
NVIDIA GeForce Go 7300 TurboCache supporting 256MB



All of these figures mean nothing to me - i just want to play call of duty 2 and oblivion!?! Which laptop would be better for me?

The first one costs £65 more, is it worth paying the extra money or is it not that much better?

I got my information from http://www.notebookcheck.net/Mobile-...ist.844.0.html

it's a site that compares benchmark results for mobile graphics cards. The higher the numbers the better, and more recent benchmarks are more accurate for newer cards.

here's how the graphics cards in the 2 notebook you mentioned compare:

Nvidia GeForce Go 7300

3DMark03: 3700
3DMark05: 1600
3DMark06: 700

Nvidia 8600M GT

3DMark03: 11329 (over 3 times better!)
3DMark05: 6874 (over 4 times better!)
3DMark06: 3566 (over 5 times better!)
