I think I might go with the ASUS P5K Premium, get the extra's, now it's time to find out the mods I can do this..

Hopefully I'll be able to use the chipset heatsinks and fans I have.

So, GBQ, why a P35 board when the X38's are available? I know they are not that different, just curious.

Ahh yes, the X38 boards. I suggest looking at those GBQ, it'll elongate the system life.

The DFI board, albeit GREEN, is a great clocker - AND stable....

I will probably go this way unless the new December boards change my mind.

What diameter sleeve did you use to cover the creative ribbon? Did it come in the sleeve kit?

It came in the kit and I don't really know what diameter I used. I just used whatever worked.

By the time I get the money a mobo the new 780i's will be out. I do know it will be DD2 compatible. I like the Maximus Formula, or the striker 2 formula.

I'm poor.

So am I. Then again I am not building a desktop right now. Just a Desk.

This is definitely NOT a cheap hobby. I've built some drag cars that were cheaper!

Damn, that is a good looking Keyboard. Give a mini review of it when you get it. How the keys feel, brightness of backlights, how well the media keys work, etc.

So far so good on the keyboard. My girlfriend used my comp to check her ebay and wants one too. The keys fell great.

Media keys are fine, very touchy though. only downside with the media, is I can't add another media player to it.

The keys and bezel around the keyboard attract dirt and oil really easily and you really need the backlighting on all the time, or you won't see the keys.

I have my bluetooth mouse connected to it. So far I love this keyboard.

Now, I'm in a situation with what to buy next...

I'm hoping to have around 900, by the end of Dec. I really would like my monitor, but.. I doubt my current pc could handle 28" at 1900x1200, I know I could lower it, but that would be ugly... Now that the evga 780i is out, I'm thinking of going back to nvidia for sli, but I'm waiting for reviews using the Q9450+ and I still need to save alittle extra for the Q9450, because I'm sure prices will be jacked up also. Newegg has raised their prices of the 780i three times today, it's up to $289.99, evga direct is $259.99

I won't be getting this done by Feb.... Taxes

What about going to a 24 inch LCD at 1920x1200 and setting the rest aside for the 780i.
I'd say wait on the 780i, over at [H] theres a giant thread about the 780i and the problems it's been having on other people's setups. Not saying all of their boards are bad, but sometimes companies tend to rush out their parts to get them on the market, but they aren't fully as stable as they should be
