Rampage is here.

Sorry for the crappy pic, I'm in a hurry.

Better pictures tonight. I'm

Mine came in too. I actually got it installed in the case tonight...along with the CPU, RAM, and HSF (Zalman CPNS 9700 LED). The wire bundle coming from the PSU is a PITA. Will take some time to get it looking neat....if I don't run out of patience first.

Yeah, I have a lot of stuff to mod on my case first. I need to cut some holes in my mobo tray for wiring and also I had an idea with some cable holes on the top of my case...For the fan cables.

Its going to be fun. Also, I'm taking off the heatsinks on the rampage for my aftermarket ones I lapped awhile ago.

I have 6 120mm fans for the radiator, 6 120mm fans for the case and two 90?mm fans for the chipset. I think thats about it.

The holes are going to be for the radiator fan cables, because I'm going to have the rad on top of the case.

Also, I'm having a problem. I want to wait till the end of May for the new 4870x2's I'm thinking about buying a temp card to hold me over till then.
I also wanted to watercool them with my cpu. The thing is I don't want to have to go through setting up the cooling for the cpu then having to redo it for the gpu's. I'm wondering if it would be fine to just save all of the water for the cpu and overclock it more maybe and just go aftermarket air cooling with the gpu's..

I don't know. I've never had to redo watercooling sooooooo, I don't really know how easy it would be to add the gpu's.

One option is to plan to set up the GPUs on a separate rad/pump loop. Then it's no issue adding WC later on.

Another option is to just make sure you have a drain line in your CPU loop (or access to move the res around enough to let you empty some of the water out), and you can drain your loop and then connect the new tubing to the GPU loop.

EDIT: Remembered I had this pic. This is what can happen if you aren't careful:

I'd definitely get a temp card and get going on the build - air cooling will be fine for now, but I'd go ahead and water cool the CPU ... if you're waiting for a new video card, you'll wait even longer for the correct GPU water block.

AMD 3870 for $169.99

Temp card. =) Thanks for the suggestions Shazz and Buck. Now I get alittle more time to figure out if I'll add another loop or just add it with the cpu.

Fun fun.

I haven't bought the video card yet. I still need Vista to come in the mail and we plan on moving to a much bigger place this month... So I'm thinking about waiting till the end of this month for the build.

I'll just buy the video card from bestbuy and return it. isn't it 30 days or something?

Not sure about CPU hardware @BB. I'll bet Nyako knows...

*Waits for a Nyako post*

Alrighty, I tried to get Bestbuy to price match a BFG 8800GT OC card they had for 279.99 plus tax. I tried to get the price for Tigerdirect.com, which has retail stores in IL and even charges IL tax, but the silly Manager at the store wouldn't price match it. On account of the price being so low and that he couldn't get a price that low, with his discount. I asked him and? This isn't about you, it's about bestbuys policy on matching prices. Which he then claimed they reserved the right to deny the match. I asked him show me in the policy where it says they have the "right" to deny anything. He couldn't show me anything, because I had the policy printed up there for them. BUT! still they wouldn't give me the price which was 199.99

Needless to say I just ordered an eVGA 8800GT from ZZF for $189.99 plus a $30 mir.

So yeah. Not bad I guess.

BestBuy Price Match I was told the same thing about the local store thing. I had the policy printed up and asked the people. "Where does it say anything about a certain mile radius?" It doesn't say anything about it. It says local market. So they couldn't argue about that.

Does Best Buy match prices of Internet retailers? If you made your purchase in a Best Buy store, and you find an Internet retailer with a local retail store honoring its own online prices, we'll match their price, plus 10% of the difference. Internet-only retailers are exempt from our price matching program, as well as Web-exclusive offers. Eligible items must be the same brand and model, and currently in stock at the competitor's store.
I even printed up the brick and mortar stores in IL they had, but I had a retarded Manager that didn't want me to get a better price than him on it. So I got an even better one at a better price and reminded why I don't shop at BB. =)
