So...did you ever buy the 3870?

8800GT

I got an eVGA one. Sitting next to me. I've already got a bios volt mod and a new bios to relax the timings. 16k 3dmark06 with a single 8800GT? Very possible.

I would say absolutely possible with your processor - clocked to a mere 4.0.

I've got over 14K on 3DM06 with the stock clocked GTS and the E6750 at 4.0 (I'm about done with the E6750 by the way).

The full version of 3DM06 comes with the Rampage, for those that don't know...

Have you started putting everything together?

Should get close to 16k with a single. I did a quick run with your QX @ 4 and the gt at stock SSC speeds (700/1000) and got 15.4k. Lil messin round should get ya 16k. Compared to the 9800GTX which gets over 17k single card (but at over 800/1150). 8800GT still is a great bang for the buck card no matter what rockin says .

Doesn't it come with a copy of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. also? I seem to remember something I ordered comes with that game...

Yep - STALKER is also included.

And HH - I would stay away from the ASUS software that comes bundled with the drivers. I had a few issues - mainly going into standby without any prompt from me with everything set to manual. Since the uninstall...zero problems.

I noticed a lot of people had issues with that software. Some even said don't use the drivers that ship with the board, download the latest drivers from Asus and use those...

Took me a while to find the downloads on their page, they don't have everything updated yet. Searching for Rampage brings up nothing...

Yeah - the US ASUS page is always late posting new info. I always go straight to the global site.

It looks like the download section is down right now, however.

Somethin tells me we're gonna have to wait some mo. Is it wrong that we're more impatient than he is?

bwhahah!

I have this HUGE fascination with people's setups. I think its one of the coolest customizable things people can do. I love going to LANS and just walk around the tables looking at cases and seeing what mice/keyboards people use.

That sounds more like a fetish .

Found out I need 12 more washers for my watercooling radiator. went to work to get them and of course they don't carry that type of screw and washer. So I'm hoping I can get them from a bolt place down the road.

Distilled water and vinegar tonight. Clean out all my watercooling crap tonight. I'll have some of it finished I suppose.

The way I move Steve, you'll end up having your AW rig before this is finished.

Well I've started cutting on this today and cleaning out my watercooling crap.

Decided not to use vinegar and to use boiled distilled only.

Just getting ready to say "Don't use vinegar" when I saw your last post. Really no need for vinegar ... and if people do use it, they need to make sure they rinse it thoroughly. While distilled is best, it is okay to rinse the rad with regular hot water several times, followed by a distilled water soak / rinse.

Yup yup. I used boiling distilled water with some rubbing alcohol for 30 mins. Shake it for awhile. Let it sit, repeat for a couple of hours, then I rinsed with fresh distilled each time.

And I really need a more powerful dremel... The Stylus isn't quite up to the task of cutting my case.

Finished. Took me awhile for this though.

and up next

The inside top side of my case. Going to cut that out to make room for the tubes to travel through the top of the case.
