I own both VMWare Fusion and Parallels for Mac 3 and currently, I only use parallels for boot camp and fusion for linux (cause I feel linux is easier used in fusion.. unless someone can provide me with a fool-proof way to install ubuntu in parallels.. i'm all ears). Anyways, I found that Fusion uses less CPU power while running and parallels uses more. But, I can't play any games in Fusion because it reads my interegrated card as uncompatable. Is it possible to use both software on teh same boot camp partition without any problems? or would i run into problems? I dont want to hose my XP partition since I'm in college right now and don't have any time to actually reinstall.

I have this memory installed in my Inspiron 14R. 6gb (one 2gb & one 4gb). Great performance! I highly recommend Kingston.

This is something that I have been curious about myself. Here is something that you can do... bear in mind this only works if you ahve an external hard drive.
Get Carbon Copy Cloner (Free) and tell it to clone your boot camp partition to the external, and make it bootable (It's under options IIRC) then, go ahead and have VMWare access the BootCamp partition. I am fairly certain that you will be fine, but cloning the drive ensures safety. An important thing to stress would be for you to not run both on the BootCamp partition at the same time.
And for install Ubuntu in Parallels:
Create a new VM
Tell it that you are installing Solaris
Run the Ubuntu Install
Switch it over to Other Linux 2.6
At least that is what I remember having to do on my system, but that could have been VMWare.

Well, maybe when I have time, I'll try the method of cloning the boot camp partition. So far, my external is being left at home so I wouldn't have access for at least another week and even then, I might need to find time to make it work.
It is only because, unless I'm playing some game, I don't like running parallels because it tends to heat up my system more. Parallels has brought my cpu up more then 82 deg. However for fusion, it only reached 75 max.
For installing ubuntu in Parallels, I've read that the parallel tools might have an issue? I'm not sure. I haven't tested it. I might decide to create a new 6 gb partition and try installing ubuntu on parallels.
