Sager 2090 OS for Gaming

Hey all! I just ordered a Sager 2090 and when it gets here I was planning to throw some games on it. (BF2/2142, WOW, etc)

I think the order was coming with Vista 64bit installed and another cd with Vista 32bit on it. I also have a copy of XP I could use. I was wondering which operating system do you think would give me the best performance for gaming? Looking on the boards, it looked like others were recommending XP or at least vista 32bit and I wasnt sure why.
Thanks!

system specs:

15.4" WSXGA+ 1680x1050 screen
Intel® Core™2 Duo T7500 2.2GHz
512MB GeForce 8600GT DX10
2,048MB DDR2 Ram
160GB 7200RPM HD

I would say use XP for games cause you can use SLI. And you can do a dual boot with XP/Vista but I heard you should install XP first then Vista cause if you do Vista first then XP, XP will wipe out Vista

XP is much faster than Vista. dual boot is a good idea. I am using this system with XP and works great (you need to download drivers from Sager website.)

Vista tends to have driver issues and a heavier footprint, making it problematic for computer systems.

There are some features, such as TurboMemory, which do increase performance and only work in Vista, as well as the benefit of Vista x64's significantly larger RAM capability (between 8 gigabytes and 128 gigabytes), but these are not likely to provide visible benefits in a conventional laptop or PC today -- there just aren't that many laptops with more than two gigs of RAM, or programs with x64 versions floating around.

Vista has its benefits, but x64 and to a lesser degree x32's horrible driver support and large memory and hard drive footprint make it dubious for gamers currently. This will likely change with time, as desktop users are already reaching the point where the overhead is negated by the improved memory management, but for now XP is strongly advised.

Yes, go XP unless you are planning on playing dx10 games.
