New PC Time - Page 2

yer changing yer mind/tune each post you give

i tell you, unless you stick a lazer temp probe on it you never get a full reading, even programs have their flaws, unless theres a physical sensor on it

and you must not be playing anything nice if you have an 8800gtx to see the diffrence

and 7950gtx2 is a 200 dollar card now? or did you just devide up wut you paid for it?

He's already said he only plays bf2142...which isn't a very straining graphical game, more so a system resource whore.

Before this turns into a war against Rockin', lets just remember that this is his thread, he paid what he paid, and his E6400 clocks like a beast Where as my Q6600 clocks like a retard on fire

yeah I don't think he was posting temps knowing the monitor was off... Give him a little slack lol. I mean you would think that PC Probe (the bundled Asus temp monitoring software) would know what the temp are lol. at 3.8GHz/1.4975v PC probe records my highest (ORTHOS induced) temps around 39c, which is just silly.

Pdonket, as far as your system goes I think the HS just shifted during shipping & caused issues with the thermal grease. As soon as you open that puppy up & apply some AS5 you will see a definite improvement, especially after it cures.

It still will not OC as well as a dual core (QC's tend to be a little more temperamental) but 3.2GHz stable should not be an issue at all.

Yeah I've really gotta get on the AS5, I've reseated the HS and yeah, it helped 9C, but I'm sure AS5 would help quite a bit.

great deal for 750 no doubt, that rig would last a top end gamer quite a while aside from dx10, but thats still far away.....for decent games anyhoo

Fella: what lcd you got that hooked up to?

Crysis sounds pretty tasty to me. Will be a great test of DX10 for me

Yea sorry about my monitor temp postings, I didn't know pc probe was crap, sooooo I am sorry about that...She ran at 3.5ghz but was locking up and pixelating...Then figured out it was the video card....So I tuned it down to 3ghz thinking it was the processor, and I haven't turned it back up cause i'm happy with the 3ghz on 2142.

I really don't play graphics intense game, it just seems bf2142 takes up everything you got type game.

I can't wait for crysis, then I might have to get vista and 2 more gigs of ram so I can run dx10.

I have it hooked up to a 2405FPW....I run all my games at 1920x1200 max everything, its just plane gorgeous, makes a PS3 feel like its running on a clocked down celeron.

2 more gigs of ram won't be necessary under vista. I have vista right now and with 2gb of 800mhz ram it runs still very silky smooth. Even running bf2142. Crysis is also supposed to be optimized VERY well which means it will probably take up less resources than BF2142 anyway If you indeed get an 8800GTX, you'll be all set for Crysis in it's full glory!

keep in mind, while Vista initially uses more RAM it utilizes it more efficiently (what's the point in having 1.7GB free most of the time lol?) Running games w/2GB under Vista Will be fine. I run COH (city of Heroes) and it pulls 1GB by itself under Vista & I still have 500MB free in the background with several web pages & other data on my second monitor.
