wow. White/black actually looks pretty cool.

it looks sick in these pics
lol, I'm glad it looks better than the first pictures...funny how everyone is going to now change their minds.

You know it makes sense b/c dell is obviously not stupid and wouldn't come out w/ a damn ugly notebook for its top of the line.

I think its hot, If it had a Graphics that doubled my 7950GTX i would probably sell my M1710 for it.
Those pics only show the top cover of the laptop. If you open it up, it'll prolly look ugly again.
The inside isn't the ugly part....it's the lid that was so ridiculously ugly the first time around. The problem remains that the thing is an obese laptop. I thought my 9400 was thick...look at this thing.
It has SLI and physics card on top of it. I would love this machine over my current, and past laptops anyways.
Physics card=marketing fodder
SLi=Nice (but available in other notebook brands)
Size=Obese
Battery life=Laughable compared to the 1710 I'm sure
Port placement & availability=Severely lacking
Numpad=(smaller keys) and offset mousepad to compensate -ugggh...
Colors=Nice touch but not the main reason I will not buy one

(wonders where the hydraulic lifts are for raising the screen lid!)

Jeez, you guys just hate the change lol.

As for me, if the system is about 20% more powerful than current models, I will sell my M90, and move on to next gens (M90, or M1730).

this laptop mimics that 17 inch alienware. Can't remember the name, I think its the clevo case model (not entirely sure) that thing is thick and it was able to hold dual hard drive, sli graphics, and dual cd/dvd drives. Its thick, but I think at the same time they are trying to promote airflow for when the 8800's come out for the laptops
post #15 of 28
I wish there won't such a big difference between the non-XPS model and the XPS in terms of graphics.
I'm pretty sure you can't have SLI and a physics card w/ this machine.......from what I heard *the voices* the physics card take up a GPU slot, so you have to choose.
The graphics cards will probably use a proprietary Dell ZIF connector & not use a mini pci slot. They will have Physics & dual GPU. Mr. Evil can probably give us a definite answer on this.
I'm holding out for an Express Card physics device. That would be neat. Only stick it in when you need it. . .

M1730 with NO Docking port = I'll wait for the Precision version of the same.
Put it this way I have 2 M1710 was gonna sell both, and buy a new one. But there so damm ugly, and thick that I am gonna keep my 7950 M1710 sell the other one and build a DX 10 desktop.
